Platinum Health employees featured in a congratulations recognition collage

Congratulations to our Amazing Women!

Thank you to all the amazing women who entered our Women’s Month Competition. These inspiring women are more than competition winners; they are everyday leaders who show strength through compassion, courage and service. Each of them lives by example, using her voice, skills and kindness to uplift others and make a meaningful difference in the lives of colleagues, patients, families and communities. Their stories remind us that empowered women not only rise but also help others rise with them.

Keneilwe Fileyo l Administration Assistant I Union Hospital

To me, empowerment begins with taking responsibility for our own growth and encouraging others along the way. I believe that when one woman is supported, she can inspire many more. I continue to learn, develop my skills and share knowledge so that I can make a positive difference at home, in my community and in the workplace.

I encourage women and girls to believe in themselves, stay focused on their dreams and know that their voices matter. Through kindness, respect, shared opportunities and small acts of support, I hope to help create a safe and uplifting environment where women feel valued, confident and able to succeed.

Sinethemba Myeni l Enrolled Nurse I Mashishing Medical Centre

As an Enrolled Nurse at Platinum Health, I am proud to use both my profession and personal platforms to support others. My journey began at Right to Care, where I provided HIV testing, counselling and health education. Over time, I extended this work through WhatsApp, sharing health information, mental wellness tips, self-care guidance and encouragement with a growing community of more than 2,500 contacts, including many young women and girls.

I continue to share messages that educate, uplift and remind others that they are not alone. I have seen how a simple word of encouragement can help someone seek care, find courage, or feel hopeful again. For me, healing is not only found in medication; it is also found in listening, kindness and reminding people that they matter. Whether I am caring for patients or encouraging women online, my purpose is to help others feel stronger, healthier and more hopeful. If I can help even one woman believe in herself, choose health, or keep going, I know I am living my purpose. “Empowered women rise together and lift others along the way.”

Yolandi Vorster l Enrolled Nurse I Thabazimbi Medical Centre

To me, “Empowered women empower the nation” means that when women are supported and encouraged, they gain the confidence to grow, lead and uplift those around them.
Empowered women also inspire, mentor, encourage, and support one another through challenges and successes. By sharing knowledge and experiences, women create networks that strengthen communities. This spirit of unity helps break down barriers and opens doors for future generations. When one woman succeeds, she often creates opportunities for many others to succeed as well.

I believe that empowering women is not only about achieving equality; it is about strengthening the entire nation. Educated, healthy, confident, and financially independent women contribute to economic growth, better healthcare, stronger families, and effective leadership. Every woman deserves the opportunity to reach her full potential and make a meaningful contribution to society. By investing in women and promoting gender equality, nations build a brighter future for everyone. Truly, when women are empowered, they empower families, communities, and the nation as a whole.

Ingrid Pitso l Case Manager I Mabe Park

I am passionate about empowering young people, especially girls and young women. I believe every girl should know that she can make her own decisions, and that making mistakes is a natural part of learning and growing. I enjoy creating safe spaces where young women can be heard, encouraged, and supported. In the workplace, I encourage women to give themselves grace and understand that there is not always a perfect balance between personal and professional responsibilities, and that it is okay to prioritise one over the other at different stages of life. I also believe women should never allow gender stereotypes or discrimination to make them feel inferior. They should confidently stand up for what is right, including fair opportunities and equal pay. My goal is to inspire women and girls to believe in their worth, seek support when needed, and pursue their potential without fear.

Feziwe Dambile l Administration Assistant I Mabe Park

To me, empowering women means reminding one another that our voices matter. It is about offering support, encouragement and kindness, especially when someone needs reassurance.

In my role as an Admin Assistant in Case Management, I have learned that even small acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference.

Whether it is listening patiently, encouraging a colleague, or reminding another woman of her worth, I believe empowerment begins in the way we treat people around us. Women carry many responsibilities, and it is important to support one another with compassion, celebrate each other’s achievements and create space for everyone to grow. When one woman is uplifted, her family, workplace and community can also be strengthened.

Lesego Siko l Administration Assistant I PHMC Rustenburg

I believe that every woman has the power to make a positive difference in the lives of other women. My contribution to women at school and at home is based on encouragement, kindness, empowerment, health, confidence and giving back to the community.

I have learned that supporting other women does not always require having a lot of money or resources. Sometimes, a simple act of kindness, a word of encouragement or taking the time to help someone can change a person’s life.

Through my passion for running, my school shoe programme, my care for vulnerable women and my love for fashion, I continue to make a meaningful contribution to women and young girls around me.
