Dis-Chem Clinic out-of-area
Platinum Health Medical Scheme now offers Primary Healthcare services for out-of-area visits, via Dis-Chem Nurses and GPs, at selected Dis-Chem pharmacies. This initiative reinforces our commitment to delivery continuous patient centered care with flexibility and convenience for our members 50km outside the radius of Platinum Health facilities.
Services include:
- General Nurse consultation.
- Basic Wound Care.
- Virtual General Practitioner (GP) consultations.
These services will be funded from the GP benefit. The services listed will be covered at Scheme rate, subject to Scheme rules, benefits and limits.
What services can members get access to?
- Nurse consultations including basic wound care services.
- Nurse referral to an online GP for consultations with prescriptions.
Who qualifies for these services?
Main members and dependants situated outside a 50km distance from any of the Platinum Health facilities.
How do I make an appointment?
An appointment must be made before the visit. Members can call or e-mail the Dis-Chem call centre to get assistance.

Operating Hours
- Monday – Friday: 07:30 – 16:30
- Saturdays: 08:00 – 16:00
- Sundays: 08:00 – 14:00
- Public Holidays: 08:00 – 14:00
Can I just walk-in any of the selected Dis-Chem pharmacies anytime for a consultation?
Members are advised to book an appointment before visiting any of the Dis-Chem Clinics for a consultation.
Do I have to pay an additional amount for these consultations?
Consultations will be covered at Scheme rate, subject to Scheme rules, benefits and limits.
