Message from the Principal Officer’s Desk

In this issue, I want to emphasise to members that the Scheme now offers Primary Healthcare services for out-of-area visits, via Dis-Chem Nurses and GPs, at selected Dis-Chem pharmacies. This initiative reinforces our commitment to delivering continuous patient centered care with flexibility and convenience for our members 50km outside the radius of Platinum Health facilities. Be sure to read the informative article included.
I want to touch on a few critical matters you need to know. As members, you need to familiarise yourself with the processes and procedures of the Scheme.
It is particularly important that you understand when you need to get authorisation from the Scheme. This will ensure that the Scheme covers your claims, and you don’t sit with unnecessary medical bills to pay. Please read the article included as it explains the process that you need to follow to get authorisation.
In an instance where you are diagnosed with chronic conditions, it’s important to know where to get your chronic medication and which pharmacies to use. Please read the article included as it explains the process to follow.
Here, we also feature the process to follow if you want to add your newborn as a dependant. Be sure to read this article as it gives you a step-by-step guide.
We’ve also included the process you need to follow if you plan on going on pension and you want to remain a member of the Scheme.
Remember to use our WhatsApp 080 000 6942 where you can access your digital membership card, membership or tax certificates, find a DSP, request authorisation, update your contact details and much more!
Yours in health and safety,
Welcome Mboniso
